I had an abortion when I was 19 years old. I have tokophobia. I don’t want to be pregnant, I don’t want to give birth. I just wanted to finish my studies (now I’m almost done!).

Mom was disappointed. Dad said that even if it was my body, I “had no right”. Tell me, have you ever felt like you weren’t a human being? Have you ever felt like an object? Have you been told that you have no rights? That basically your body is not yours? I have.

Sorry, but I’m not sorry. I am the 1 in 3.

AMAZING.

From what? Their terrible fashion sense?

If I could give this guy a swift kick to the bean bag through the internet, I would.

I am an 18 year old working political science/art student. I live with my parents in a modest home and my brother is in the army. My dad was fired over a year ago and has submitted hundreds of applications, but still can’t find work. My mom works 7am-7pm Monday-Friday and makes around $90,000 a year. We can’t afford medical/dental insurance. We have almost been kicked out of our home. We can’t pay our bills. I don’t qualify for any financial aid because of my moms income. To keep our home my parents have to keep taking out loans against my moms retirement fund. We are being taxed to death because people think we are the 1%, but we aren’t.

And it’s shit like this that I don’t really think people understand. While you’re supporting the gutting of food stamps, medicaid, and other social programs, you’re legitimately committing people to die.

One of the men I’ve known my entire life passed away this year because he had to choose between care for his heart issues and putting food on the table for his kids.
This isn’t a joke.

UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE, PLEASE?

It is simply disgusting that the US STILL doesn’t have universal health care. Wake up… :|

when rick santorum claims that nobody in the united states dies because of a lack of health insurance…

I’m 26 years old. I’ve worked since I was 16. I have over $40,000.00 in student loan debt. I live with my brother. We only have health insurance because my mom pays for it. We only have a house to live in because my mom owns it. She only had money because our father died of brain cancer after being treated like a test subject for 18 months. I work full-time. I pay taxes. I am the 99% and I want change. RIP, Daddy.

And I’m one of the lucky ones…
21 year old college senior. Debt free thanks to working full time in the summer and had money saved up. Two part time jobs during school year. Parent’s insurance doesn’t cover prescription meds= unmedicated depression and anxiety. Applying to grad schools because I know there will be no jobs pertaining to my degree. Scared for the future. Scared for the present.

I am here for everybody, or rather the 99% that have been taken advantage of for so many years.  Things are so much worse than 20 or even 30 years ago.  Everything goes up except wages and workers are expected to do so much more for less.

Mhm. What’s worse is that we are the lucky ones, because we have the ability to go to college.
